Shrimp and Black Eyed Pea Cakes Recipe

This is from Cafe Reconcile. Hungryone posted a link to a recipe on the site, so I nosed around a bit. Looks interesting using the hushpuppy mix. Might be something fun to make for New Year's to cover black eyed peas. I might tinker with it a bit. I'm assuming you make the hushpuppies per the package instructions.

Needs some kind of sauce for dipping them in.

The recipe suggests remoulade sauce and has the Cafe Reconcile recipe in the post.

I think substituting some Jiffy for the hushpuppy mix would be nice. Just mix everything together and put in muffin tins. I love cornbread with my black eyed peas for a little sweetness. This may make it to my table for New Years Day this year.

I think a cornbread mix which is cakey like Jiffy is might be too "fluffy" to work. You could always add a little sugar to a hushpuppy mix if you want to add a sweet element or even some sweet pickle relish instead of more jalapenos might work.
