Many moons ago, I dated a girl from Shreveport that went to Centenary. We spent many nights going out to Tommy's Place, Freddie Mac's, Chicago, and Humpfrees. I haven't been back in ages and I doubt any are still in existence, but The Blind Tiger was always a great spot for food and beers downtown.

All more upscale and great food. The others suggested are good choices as well. Cypress is brand new, but it looks like they’re putting out a great product

The Blind Tiger has dropped dramatically from pre Covid. This was my go to spot for traveling on business. The menu has changed and nothing seems the same not even the drinks. It was a spot I highly recommended but now I wouldn’t put it in my top 5.

That’s disappointing.
I honestly haven’t eaten there since about 2011/2012. However, while working in that area, I ate there a lot and enjoyed the food. Bloody Marys were top notch too.

Fat Calf Brasserie or Zuzul - those are the two that are going to give you the most interesting experience. Cypress is new and hopefully an up and comer, but IMHO has some pretty significant kinks to iron out regarding execution of the food, but the vibe and look of the place is excellent and stimulating and cocktails are nicely done.
There are plenty of other solid choices, but if you really want to reliably impress, first two are the choices.

Another upvote for Fat Calf...have eaten there about 6 times over the past couple of years and everything has been spot on with each visit. Chianti would also be on my list of top dining experiences along with The Mabry House.
