3 out of those 4 absolutely knock what I said about some of the kids not being able to afford much. Jubans?! Really?

That's actually a really good idea.

My brother said so far, the consensus is Ichiban, but there are plenty of kids who don't like sushi. Sure, there are alternatives but I think they should choose something a little easier to please everyone.

The stupid bitch said they should do Waffle House, Chuck E Cheese, or McDonalds.

She thinks it's "cool"

a couple can get out of jubans for 80 or so I'd think since they'd be without booze and splitting an app and maybe a dessert... what about Tsunami or Gino's?

Tsunami is a possibility. Right now, it's looking like Ichiban.

honestly, most fun i ever had for a dance was the mall food court. our reservations were lost at a fancy seafood restaurant, so we just went to the mall. but, those places are dumb. none of those places have tables that ARE NOT bolted to the ground.

so, you could only seat four at a table together. which ruins the fun of all going out together.

tell them i said to go to the food court.

See, but you went cause your reservations were lost or something. This girl was recommending those places because she wanted the attention.

Which, now that I think about it, those places are probably best for them because everyone knows high school prom groups don't tip shite.

LL, I waited on a group of HS kids this past weekend. I had a 5 top (one guy was solo) and 1 person short of adding gratuity.

One girl accused her date of hitting on me and referred to me as the "competition" all night. Their bill was $150, they handed me the cash for the bill, rounded up to the next dollar, then a $5 bill for my tip. It was miserable.

Last year there was a group that literally got up and just started sitting themselves at tables with their dates because they noticed the note about gratuity being added for large parties.

I've had tables get one water and one coke... the water is never touch but the coke is always empty.. they really didn't want to pay the extra $2 for a second coke... I brought them another anyway and just asked that they give me a break.

the best part though is cleaning your section after when the floor and seats are covered in glitter from the dresses...

I hate prom season

I can only imagine how horrible it is. I was never in a customer service industry because times like these are when I would flip and likely be fired for it.

I sounded like a total bitch today, but I went outside my house where my brother and friends were all gathered and bitched about tipping. I explained to them the appropriate amount to tip and the appropriate way to act. Like I said, they probably say "B's sister is such a bitch" but I don't care. I feel bad for the poor person who has to wait on some of the kids my brother knows.

we did the Camelot thing, and did not have to worry about tipping, just sign the tab and the old man gets the bill in the mail

Yeah... all I know is that this is the last time I need to worry about it. As soon as I get back from study abroad I'm finding a new job or internship for the summer and/or fall.

eta: but if their party is big enough, and it sounds like it is, tipping won't be an issue because gratuity should be added.
