Anyone ever gotten from here? How is the quality and pricing compared to other places?

Are they locally sourced and not Chinese?

I’m no expert but my general observations are that pricing is normally near the bottom and quality is solid. They are usually a bit dirty but not an issue if you water them down a bit. I assume locally sourced by the way they discuss delivery times, but not 100%.

Someone else here should know their deal.

They are locally sourced and generally, the lowest price around the city. I haven't had any from there this season, but I the ones I've had in previous years are always good quality.

Cheap and good quality/size the times I've had crawfish that came from there. The seafood dept as a whole is pretty damn legit there. Went there a couple times with a buddy who has a membership.

But in case you didn't know, RD is a members only wholesale place and you can only register under a business. Can't register without business license is my understanding.

The only Chinese crawfish you buy are frozen, you'll never buy live Chinese crawfish.
Crawfish are only gonna keep in a sack in a refrigerated cooler a few days, maybe a week tops. They ain't gonna make it from China unless it's over-nighted on a plane.

Has anyone found out a way to get a membership if they are not associated with a restaurant, caterer, or non-profit?

I read that you can join a Kansas City BBQ association and with that comes free 1 day passes to Restaurant Depot?

I think most of them will give you a day pass, just have to ask when you walk in. Just dont show up once a week expecting to get one every time. I joined KCBS in 2014, still have my card. I just flash it and they give me the pass.

Your business doesn’t have to be food related.....you just need a business license of some kind to show to get a membership.

or get a card from a buddy with a membership. They give members several cards. You do not have to show any ID with it. You just swipe it.

I had to go to RD this morning and took a look at their crawfish. Not bad looking, live and $1.59 @ lb. No one available to talk to but I'm more than sure they are most likely Louisiana and at worst Mississippi raised crawfish.
They're sold to restaurants so I'm sure they HAVE to be good.
