Question on Creamy Chicken Noodle Soup

I have a great, go to recipe for chicken noodle soup. My wife is sick right now, and has requested it, but with a twist. She really likes creamy chicken noodle soup.
My plan was to just to things as normal except for blend about 4 cups of the broth with cream of chicken soup before adding it to the rest of the soup. This a good idea, or should I go some other route?

I wouldn't add canned chicken soup to my homemade chicken noodle soup.
I suggest you make a butter and flour roux. Cook it a bit to get the raw flour taste out, but don't brown it. Just whisk it well for a few minutes over the heat. Then add some whole milk whisking as you do. It should thicken up. Amounts depend on how much soup you're making.
After the mixture is thickened, you can whisk it into the simmering soup, but I think I would take out some of your broth from the soup and whisk it in until smooth and then stir that back into the simmering soup a little at a time until you like the consistency.

Better idea. How much roux would you suggest if it's a two and half quart broth, 2-3 chicken breast plus veggies recipe?

Just an update. Turned out great Gris. My wife thanks you as do I. Ended up doing a stick of butter, 1/4 cup olive oil and 1/2 cup of flour. Turned out great.

Sorry I didn't don't see your next question, but I'm so glad it turned out well. Good job on your part.
It stinks to be under the weather and have a certain food in mind that's the only thing you feel like eating. You're a great husband!
