question about mussels "allergy"

I think this is odd. I have no problem at all with most shellfish,
but for some reason, on more than one occasion I've become violently ill after eating mussels. I'm pretty sure that it hasn't been an issue of "bad mussels".
Does anyone have any insight that might explain this phenomenon?
