NOLA area has never ceased selling it, and it’s the same recipe and portion
Do you work for Popeyes? How do you know? I have also noticed it's not the same since it came back a few weeks ago. Bland and very dry.

I’ve gotta give a shout-out to Popeyes in sulphur , LA. Took my son to SPAR water park and afterwards drove thru the Popeyes right there fully expecting for it to take forever or them to be out of something but it went perfectly smooth and was extremely fast. It felt like a dream.

I’ve been eating it frequently for years and had it as recent as last week.
There are variables at play. It’s either being prepared improperly (rice to meat mix ratio) or being held for too long under heat. Check the bottom of your side item cup next time, the number on the bottom is the time it should be tossed (ie if it’s a 6, it should’ve been discarded at 6pm). If there is no number on the bottom your Popeyes has quality control issues and I’d question the integrity of their Cajun rice

I watched a video of it being all in a bag ready to heat? I didn't think the restaurant did any of the mixing, could certainly be wrong.

Rice is supposed to be made fresh every day for both red beans and cajun rice. More variables - are you getting rice that’s been sitting in the walk in for days? Are the proper seasonings being used to make the rice? Rice over or under cooked?
The meat mix comes in a frozen bag. It is to be defrosted in the AM, then mixed with fresh rice for use that day

You have a red bean knock off
I'd believe that. But you can't tell the difference in taste, they're so close.
