If you have not ordered or eaten here your are missing out. Got a shrimp poboy tonight and counted 23 shrimp on one half...The owners moved over from da parish after Katrina. Wife had the shrimp salad and daughter the fried catfish, could have fed 3 more people... on hwy 22 across from Beau Chene...

How does there shrimp poboy compare to the Original Bears in Covington?

I've lived here for 2 years now a few miles from Pontchartrain Poboy, but still have yet to try it. It is always packed at lunch time so I choose a spot elsewhere.
As for the Bear's in Covington..... The place is a dump and credit cards are not accepted. The location in Mandeville is much more up my alley. I won't be back inside the Covington location until they remodel and get with the times.

I'll second Pnchartrain. Pivots are really good. Owners are nice people.

I agree the store in Covington is shittier but I feel like the food is better there than at the Mandeville location.

How is the Roast BEef Pooy at Pontchartrain? My wife doesn't like seafood but she love a good ole New Orleans roast beef poboy filled with shreaded roast beef in a good gravy.
Are they open in the evening?

I go to Bears in Covington for the roast beef everytime I am through the area. I don't care that it looks like a 1970's Chicken Hut.
I'm there for the food!!!!

Agree 100% as a person who eats at both regularly.
There is no way the roast beef is cooked the same way at both.

I believe until 8.
They are NOT open on weekends.
I lived in the apartments close by while my house was being built and only visited it once. It was good, but wasn't open on weekends and I work on the Southshore.
