Like a Monk's in New Orleans?

Camellia Grill is the first thing that comes to mind, but I'm sure you don't want that place.

Well I'm not going to get into that old argument here.

What about Blue Plate or Slim Goodies? They seem like typical diners that would have pies.

Camelia Grill ain't happening. Interesting nod to Fat Hen. Bet they would be solid for this.

Fat Hen is a good choice. I'm not sure if they do pies (don't see why they wouldn't), but I've had a slice of cake and coffee at the diner stool part of the restaurant.

Laurel Street Bakery (Uptown) is a great choice for this. You can sit outside too. They have a pretty wide selection of baked goods (apple pie, pecan pie, tarts, almond croissants, pumpkin bread, cookies, etc). Just remember that it's cash and check only.

ETA: Now that I posted that, I am going to definitely hit that place up for a slice and cup of coffee over the break.

Awesome. This is exactly what I'm looking for. Just look at all the choices. LINK

Thanksgiving day not sure what will be open and/or if we'll go out. Tomorrow we'll be at Vintage then Superior Steakhouse then somewhere downtown... probably Stray Cat.

Friday gonna watch the LSU game somewhere. ??
