Place to eat/drink in New Orleans on New Year's Eve (one night only)

I haven't lived in New Orleans in over 15 years and unfortunately don't get to visit often enough to stay abreast of the establishments.
On New Year's Eve, we are driving down to NO from parents' house in BR, for a side one-night trip with friends who are staying near Audubon Park.
We'll do some daytime barhopping but want a recommendation for a place to be from say 10pm until after midnight. 4 adults in our 40s, sans kids. My buddy and I will likely end up at Snake and Jake's after the women pass out, but we want something a tad less authentic for the ladies.
Our speed is anything from dive bar to a laid back restaurant (think Jacques Imo's). No "clubs." We plan to stick west of Lee Circle. Could venture into warehouse district. A cover is fine, but no $150+ stuff.
Any recs appreciated.
Thanks!

While the travel board is def. better than the OT, you might have some more responses on the food and drink board with this.
