I've scheduled for the oven to turn off, but never to turn on.
Does anyone use this feature? If so, what do you use it for?

I could see someone using it to have the oven pre-heated when they get home from work, or when they wake up to make breakfast, etc.

I've seen recipes for baking bread and baked potatoes. I want to use it because everything in the crockpot cooks too long.

My dad used to. He would get a big sunday lunch ready in the morning, and put it all in the oven. Oven starts to heat around 11 and by the time we get home from church it is all ready. The only thing to remember here is that you don't want metal pots or pans on the bottom. They tend to get hot fast with the bottom element coming on during the heating and it may burn the bottom of whatever is in there. So use a thick pyrex or corningware dish on the bottom.
