Afternoon Everyone,

I'll be visiting Paris for a day while I'm over in London, and am open to any recommendations for breakfast & lunch, as long as it's not something formal where you'd have to be really dressed up. Not to mention that I only have 8-9 hours anyway.

The Eurostar arrives around 10:15, I think, so I thought something like Hollybelly would be a decent choice for breakfast, since it's so close to Gare du Nord.

As for lunch, not a freakin' clue.

Any suggestions, etc. are greatly appreciated!

Good lord what a tough question.

Chez Michel up around Montmartre is a great restaurant and close to Gare du Nord.

I'd recommend oysters at Regis or a bite at da Rosa, but that to me is more of a snack than a full on meal.

I can't think of a better Paris lunch experience than Les Papilles in the Latin Quarter. Check it out for yourself.

For breakfast, just go a local bakery and load up on croissants.

You know, the one other time I was there for a day, I went to a very highly regarded patisserie, and they didn't even serve coffee or have a toilet!

So I'm kinda shying away from that.

I can second this recommendation, went in November. One of the best things we did in Paris

I had one of the most enjoyable lunches ever at Cafe de la Paix in the Intercontinental Hotel across from the Garnier Theatre.

Croque Monsieur and Roquette salad, with a nice French White of course.

I’d hit a bakery for breakfast, because I’m pastry and bread obsessed. A quick croissant from Kayser and a coffee, save the calories for lunch. Now, lunch: you want fancy/posh, or cafe with people watching, or what? What else will you do during the day? Ie, what neighborhood will you be in at lunchtime?

That's not necessarily set in stone yet, but after breakfast (very close to Gare du Nord), we might go to the catacombs first, for instance.

Definitely not a posh lunch, just something relaxed and high quality!
