I have a rectec 700 pellet smoker but I have always used lump charcoal and wood up until I got the rectec. I like the rectec but I want to get back to charcoal smoking as well. I'll keep the rectec for convenience (while I'm at work or just wanna be lazy that day) and I was thinking of possibly using both for smokes. Say smoke for 2-3 hours over coals and wood then finish on rectec???

Anyway looks pretty solid and I don't need anything super size wise since I have the rectec? Anyone run this smoker??

I've had mine for a month. Love it. Holds temp well. Even with it being a new smoker and trying to get dial things in it has made some really good BBQ.

I got one back in the fall when it was on sale at Walmart (total was just over $200–I think they still periodically do a sale). I really like it. Decent capacity especially if you get a 2nd grate or like hanging meat. Holds at 225º-250º pretty easily. I’ve held it at that temp for 12+ hrs with a full basket of coals. I haven’t converted it to a grill, but some ppl like that versatility. Good smoker for the price.

Got one in the Fall as well. Love it. Got it for $180 and not sure you can do better at that price. Using a second grate to double the capacity is nice.
