Whats is the best Sunday jazz brunch experience in the Big Easy (food, music, ambiance, history combination)?

Some people will kill me for this.... But I really like Court of 2 Sisters on Royal. (if you sit out in the courtyard) You get a sampling of lots of New Orleans dishes...though not the best of any of them, none of them are bad. made to order omelets. grits and grillades. lots of desserts. salads. etc. They usually have a little acoustic band playing out in the courtyard and since you are under the lattice and vines and there are fans blowing it's not too hot and you get to enjoy the day.

The service is absolutely phenomenal but I think you can get better and larger portions at cheaper places such as Brennans. Brennans has a killer brunch.
Btw, Chewy if you come down can you bring me some crab angels from Surin, a slab of ribs and a bottle of sauce from Dreamland, some cheese biscuits from jim and nicks, and a loaded bbq gyro baked potato from ALs when you come?

Just pony up and go do Commanders.
I just read a bad review of Court of Two Sisters today on another food board. It is not horrible, but def. not worth it, especially at this time of the year. It is too hot to enjoy the courtyard.

Court is what? $35/person? That's not too bad... I never said it was phenomenal food... it's just nice because it gives you a sampling of so many NOLA foods that are good but not great quality.

Neauxla, you know your Magic City stuff cold. I can promise the sauce, but the cheese biscuits won't make it south of Bessemer. LOL.

Dammit! Yeah, I lived up there for 6 years. 4 years at BSC and 2 years working before I came back down here for law school. Btw, if you dont know about it...try Fat Sams in Southside. The philly cheese steak and chicken parm are awesome. So are the fries... but it's definitely not healthy and the place should probably fail a health inspection...

Yeah, you are probably right. I would just hate trying to dress up nice and go sit in that courtyard right now. I have heard they have been letting things sit on the buffet a little too long at breakfast lately.
You could do much worse, so don't skip it if it is something you have been wanting to try.

Fat Sams? I'm on it like Chaz Ramsey on a right knee. Bringing the wife to the Big Easy in August. Food lineup as follows: Blue Dog Cafe (staying 1st night in Lafayette), Mandina's (need the trout meueniere and turtle soup w shot of sherry), Crepe Nanou, Bluebird Cafe, Liuzza by the Track for the BBQ Shrimp PB, Tommy's Cuisine (could be my absolute #1 restaurant in the US), finish it off at Dante's Kitchen for Sunday brunch (just read a review on the web - looks like cool, laid back local place, reasonable, with good food). Got Lipitor?

Good line up Chewy.
May I suggest you replace Liuzza's by the Track with Parkway Bakery? It is less than a mile away.
Have fun and stay "cool".

Never been to Blue Bird, Tommy's, or Dante's...which is sad since I am from NOLA. Though I have heard good things about all but Tommy's...never even heard of it. Crepe Nanou? Hope you are getting the escargot.

This is a "do not miss" in New Orleans dining. Tommy's offers the best of all Crescent City worlds in a seductive atmosphere in the Warehouse District. Like the classics like Oysters Rockefeller, Bienville? Tommy's unleashes unabashed slam dunks with Oysters Tommy and its own mind blowing Bienville. Like classic Italian? Look no further than Tommy's interpretations of the classics. This, amid a cozy, old world ambiance and a tour de force wine list entrench Tommy's among the city's best. Magnifico!

Just saw an ad in the paper for Begues at the Royal Senesta. Probably a little cheaper than the big named places, but still a good brunch.

Muriel's has the best brunch in NOLA IMO

Commanders or Brennans for the best. (There really is not a price difference b/t the two) Both are top notch.
