Need a good recipe for Black Eye Pea Soup

I'm assuming you're going to use some type immersion blender to puree the black eye peas to have them become a soup as opposed to leaving them whole like you would for plain black eye peas.
Use your trinity and other dry and liquid seasonings of your choice. If making it into a soup, I'd use some type stock, probably chicken or fried turkey stock since that is what I have the most of in my freezer. Leave the peas whole while cooking then either put the soup in a blender/food processor or use an immersion blender to puree the peas for a creamy consistency.
You could also use some heavy cream at some point during the cooking process and that would help thicken it up a bit, plus add a bit of richness.
If for a soup, meat it optional.
