Also, did I miss something with the menu? I feel like there isn't much variety...

I've been 4 times and had a different sandwich each time.
Pulled pork= very good
country fried steak = ok
macdonald = very good
peanut butter = "interesting" but good.

Went last night. Happy hour 4-7 = 1/2 price 10 oz drafts, 1/2 price house wine and house liquor I think. Not a bad deal. They have a lot of beers on tap. Probalby close to 25? Had the burger as well. The bun is a bit on the sweeter side which it seems a lot of people enjoy. I could do with or without it. The burger itself was just a regular burger. Nothing special about it. Place was at best 20% full at 7:00. They need to give up on the word of mouth theory and start advertising.
I'll go back for happy hour to watch a game, but I'm in no hurry to go back to eat.

As you know it has the potential to be a cool place to hang out, but not for the lonely. At 5:00 they had a few people at the bar, by 7:00 I don't think there was 1 person at the bar.

The thing is this is restaurants busiest season. Every restaurant in Towne Center is packed, and the bartener at Mug Shots is literally doing home work at the bar. They have got to start brainstorming some ideas to get some business in the door.

I think I had 9, 10 oz beers ranging from Shocktop, Smithwicks, LA 31, and bud lt for under $20. That aint bad.

I'll be back for happy hour, but might skip the dinner.

Stumbled acoss this place last Monday Night. Happy hour was from 11am to 7pm. Burger was fantastic, I got the spicy one, I think it is the Cowder? The manager told me they are trying the word of mouth advertising first, but from what you guys are saying about the rent, maybe they can't afford advertising right now. If it does goes out of business soon you will regret not going and trying one of there burgers, one of the best I've ever eaten.

that's my point .. you have the parking lots of some of these crap places in BR that are packed and here's mugshots .. actually a really good place that is something BR -- especially that part of town -- needs ... but until the guy drops $5K a month in advertising that may or may not work, it is going to be dicey .. the parking lot at pf changs, five guys, flemings, carraba's, bonefish, and zea's are healthly .. and are all right next to this place ... hopefully people will start drifting in to give it a try .. i think i would drop the cash on a nice, big, lighted sign before i drop it on big advertising .. he can pull some decent business off of just the existing restaurant traffic that is around there ... the $275 mugshots banner that you can't see from 50 yards away at night ain't gonna cut .. people have to know there is a business operating in there !

I'm headed to mugshots in an hour, what's the price for a burger, fries and drink?

Co-worker wants to hit up five guys but after reading this thread I'm convincing him to try Mugshots. We haven't tried either one and what I can gather so far is Mugshots > Five Guys. What's the price range for both places?

Maybe if they don't have the capital to advertise and get their name out there, someone could make an investment opportunity with them...although it is a chain, correct? Not sure how that could work...

I'm pretty sure they have the capital to do some advertising.

Thing is, I don't think they are used to advertising in a big market... think about it.. Hattiesburg, Tuscaloosa, Starkville, Biloxi, they are all small towns and word of mouth is more than enough for these places.

BR is a big city with a lot of competition. They need to find a way to stand out. Someone in the business of advertising should go make a pitch to these guys and get them on board with some marketing.

I personally think they're in the wrong location and it will ultimately do them in. If only they could move closer to campus.

I was there last night at 6:45 and stayed until 8:15. I counted 14 customers in the entire building, no one walked in for a table. Amazing burger and decent beer selection, however, this was my third time there and all three times were abysmal as far as attendance is concerned.

this is what i said earlier .. all of their other locations -- hattiesburg, starkville, tuscaloosa .. are obviously college dominated towns .. BR is certainly a college town by SEC standards .. but their location doesn't really take advantage of the college clientele that they built themselves on ... i am thinking, unless they worked out an unGodly deal with towne center, they are paying at least twice what they are in lease money than they are at their other locations ... it will be a real shame if this place doesn't make it here in BR ..

I don't see it making it honestly

Food is great. Bad location IMO.

Youre right, they do well in college towns in COLLEGE areas... Not the towne centre

Would have done better on the corner of state and highland where blockbuster was IMO.

I had a good conversation with one of the managers there, he said they want it to be more of a 30 plus, family type atmosphere, not a college scene.

I hope it makes it as well, I'll definitely do my part, the food is great!

if I'm 30+ with a family in that area I don't think I'm taking the wife and kids to a sports bar
