I don't really care about other people's dogs (i love them), but mine is a neurotic little bitch.. and the one super dog friendly place (Bulldog) has broken glass covering the patio.

We take turns picking it up while there and set it on the table. Not the bar's fault at ALL.. it just gets lodged everywhere in the cracks from idiots.

Why? I don't understand people who think they need to drag their damn dog everywhere they go like it's a fricking little kid who can't be left alone at home.

"I have to take my dog everywhere I go so people can see I'm a good pet owner" must be the mentality associated with this mental illness

If you were talking about a place called "Mid City Fine Dining" you'd have a point. But American craft beer development and "dog friendly" establishments have largely gone hand in hand, especially if the word "Beer Garden" appears in the business title.

If you're going to run a lot of taps, the maximum amount of beers you can pour in an hour is lower than if you're popping bottles of Bud Light all night. To make up for that loss in top end speed you need to have a steady stream of clients at off hours. That means trivia nights, bar games, yoga nights, and yes - dogs.

If you need to be busy on non-weekend nights and before 9PM, you have to pull in people who would otherwise be walking Fido in their neighborhood on a Tuesday after work.

Bonus, Fido attracts girls, and girls attract guys, so all of a sudden the social desire to be at a place increases beyond just beer drinkers....and hopefully "creates" some more beer drinkers in the process.
