Meater 2 Plus

Anyone have this version? I liked the concept of the original Meater and bought it a couple years back. Since using the OG version, the range was awful, if smoke residue got on the ambient tip side it would not charge, and the glue broke down connecting the probe to the ambient side. Overall, it was not a great experience. I do love this concept for a thermometer though and really hoping this new version gives more range and is more durable (also ambient side can now withstand up to 1000* they say). Any thoughts before wasting $120?

I have it. While I don’t use it that much, I’ve been happy with it so far.

Well it’s only been out about a month
I got one first day it came out

I do have the original also

This new version is much better

Only done 2 cooks with it so far but it’s the GOAT

The old meter you could only go up to about 575 ambient temp with the new one it’s 950

You can put the meater over a direct flame

It has 5 temp probs instead of just one for the original

Meaning you don’t have to be as accurate putting the probe exactly in the middle

Also the probe itself is much thinner then the original

Making it much easier to probe thinner slices of meat

How about the range? The range of the previous one sucked.

I gave up on wireless devices that use an app. Eventually, they will quit supporting the app on your device and the thing will quit working. I haven't tried the Meater but I assume that would be the end result. I'm using this one now -
