My MIL showed up at my house with an early Christmas present. She bought it off a guy who used to do Civil War reenactments and cooking demonstrations. I can't find much information on the original manufacturer. Does any body else own some of this stuff? Any good?

I pulled the pic from Google image, but this is what mine looks like. I would love to find a lid.

Here is the only info I can find on the manufacturer. It's good info, but I can't really find any of this stuff for sale or any info outside of this.

Never heard of that company, but cast iron is only as good as how it's seasoned for cooking. Season the hell out of that sucker and you should get a lot of good meals out of it.

Pretty sure you can probably just buy a lid to fit that pot once you have the size needed or if not, maybe find a pot that uses the same size lid, buy it and use it when needed.

How big is that pot in quarts? Hard to tell in that pic.

It's really well seasoned. I cook with cast iron almost exclusively, so it came to a good home. It's a cool looking pot. I'm going to break it in this weekend.

Get a pork belly and make some cracklins. I have a 20 qt. cast iron pot and that damn thing with the lid must be close to 20+ lbs. Fill it with gumbo and it is a chore to move it around.

It's not really built well for cracklins. It's wide in the middle so the lip is smaller, and the bottom is flat. I use my 10 gal for cracklins.

Lots of it on ebay.

Ebay link

I didn;t look to see if they had a lid, but I did see pots that looked like your pot.

Go to a cast iron site and ask for a lid. someone will find one for you.
