There is a huge difference between squeezing lemons and cutting them in half and dropping them in.

I went to a recent boil where the lemons were peeled and blended. Way to strong. Lemon can destroy all other flavors if it is too strong.

dude i don't think you've ever actually boiled crawfish before

and the only way 5 lemons would make a batch taste like a lemondhead candy is if you were boiling 5 crawfish in a 1/2 gallon pot on the stove

Serious question. How many crawfish were boiled? I REALLY don't see how 5 lemons "ruined" a batch of crawfish. I understand it's your opinion but I'm also willing to bet that you were the only one with that opinion and heard nobody else complaining unless it was like 10lbs of crawfish.

4 sacks.

I just assumed it was 5,, he made 4 boils and cut the lemons in half and squeezed a bunch of them in ther every time.
He had a whole big sack of lemons so do the math.
and fwiw, it wasnt ruined... i just personally have no desire to have crawfish with lemon flavor to them.

Put it this way they had more of a lemon hint than a spicy hint... and IMO thats not a good thing.

I boiled 4 sacks a week or so ago for this HS softball team and did a little test using ice.

Ice works.
its a fact, no reason to argue it.
Ive used it forever, but just wanted to see if it really made a difference and it does.
