We are growing various herbs, fruits, and veggies in the garden this year. My wife wants to buy one of those infused water dispensers. I think it’s a great idea since pretty much all we drink at home is water. We’ve completely cut out sodas.

So what do I need to know about doing this? How long to let the fruit soak before drinking? How long is it good for? Any recipes you’d recommend? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I've done a few varieties. Mostly sliced lemon and lime. Adding some mint leaves is always a good touch too. But I've also done strawberries, watermelon, and even orange slices.

In my experience, the water usually takes about a day or so to get fully infused and can last about a week in the fridge. But there's nothing more refreshing than a glass of infused water on a hot day. I've also cut out most of the sodas and juices.

Cucumber water is surprisingly tasty and refreshing.

I doubt it will go past a week in our house, so that’s perfect.

Thanks for the info. We’ll try a few different combinations. Lemon, cucumber, and mint sounds like it would be delicious and we should have that in abundance.

Ginger, lemon, and mint is also a good combo. Fresh grated ginger and let it soak overnight. Strain that out and add sliced lemons and mint leaves.
