Keep them cool.
Lay a towel down in the shade, wet it, lay sack on top, lay another towel on top the sack and wet it. They'll stay alive for 8-10 hours with refridgeration.

Put them in an ice chest with the lid cracked. Leave them in the sack and lay a 20 lb bag of ice on top, then prop it to where it can drain

Same. I bought some on a Thursday and boiled them on a Friday. Didn't notice a difference in # of dead ones than normal.
