It's kind of complicated, but if you can find a good Brioche dough recipe, then that's half the battle. You just have to have a little patience because having to proof the dough several times. Also, I recommend using Red Star yeast for baking with enriched dough (that means using eggs and milk).

Was just getting a reaction from the king cake snobs. Yes, Meche's is just a giant donut. The best one in Lafayette is from Keller's Bakery

So I tried this recipe I found this weekend and it is damn good. I'm not completely sure about the frosting on it. A little different but still very good. The dough was perfect though. Extremely fluffy and moist.
