A new restaurant is opening near my house in Frisco, TX. It is called Jenevein's and the owner's name is Earl Jenevein. The Head Chef's name is Matt Watson. There is supposed to be some connection with Bear's Poboys in Metairie. I can't wait to get my hands on (I hope) a decent sloppy roast beef on decent French bread. Does anyone know anything about either of these two gentlemen?

Matt did have a restaurant in Metairie. He is related to the Watson's in Mandeville. They owned the original Bear's on Hwy 190.

Menu looks interesting - we'll give it a try soon.

If Earl has replicated the Bears poboy, it will be legit. I hope the Frisco area appreciates a good poboy.

Better that emu's and ostriches.

Plano...I have to imagine with this info you know JA and MA. Tell J not to eat for free too often.

Menu has nothing particularly creole or New Orleans about it other than the po boys. Weird to say “a taste of New Orleans” and have a bunch of burgers, salads, and apps like “Cajun cheese fries” with the only difference from the regular cheese fries is buffalo sauce.

I’ll pass.
