That’s a cheap paddle that can easily bend when prying the heavy jambalaya against the side of the pot. That paddle is for boiling where you’re not going to put much pressure on the paddle.

Sure it will work, but it is cheap quality and can bend. You can find a heavy duty one at a restaurant supply store for $20-$30. Well worth paying double.
