Having hard time seasoning pot after getting it somewhat smooth...tried burning oil to a fire method but what do u do with the slush that settles at bottom center?? Remove it or leave it till it hardens??

Put it upside down or tilted so the oil doesn’t puddle. How big a pot are we talking about here?

Fry something in it or make a roux in the pot. It will be seasoned perfectly.

Get a 5 gallon jug of oil, call your podnas over and fry 4 or 5 whole chicken in it or some pork ribs...... it will be seasoned to perfection.

I have a 7 gallon pot. I just flip it upside down on the stand over the burner and let it burn for 30-45 minutes.

Get some pig fat and cook some cracklins, then cook some more and then some more.

Grinded my pot down and after cooking 4-5 40lbs batches of cracklin at our local festival its seasoned up great.

Need to cook some more tho, never can be too seasoned

Yes unfortunately new pots come rough most times.

Mine was actually kind of wavy.
