If you get the pan as hot as possible burn each side for 2 1/2 minutes and put it in the oven for 4 minutes on 450 Perfect every time

What's up with everyone in this thread wanting to put oil on their steak??? I worked in a steakhouse for years and never saw us put oil on a steak.

Salt and pepper. Sear/grill. The end.
