Is Sammy's Reopening in Prairieville? - Old Porch Light Location

The old Porch Light location on Old Perkins. Has anyone heard about this? I live nearby, and they've been doing a lot of remodeling in the past few months. My neighbor walked by last week, and noticed a yellow liquor license app near the front door. The liquor license read "Sammy's Grill"

Idk why they would. Nothing has ever survived that building for long

According to one of the previous restaurant owners, Tommy charges way too much rent.

It's the old Porch Light location on Old Perkins near Airline. There's a neighborhood behind it...

Before I could drive, I’d walk from my parents neighborhood to the gas station and walk right by that location…granted, that was 20 years ago

Also, wasn’t porch light started/owned by some people that worked at Sammy’s years ago and just brought back the old recipes?

I know exactly where it is. Just an odd place to just be walking unless you live behind it but OP didn’t say that. Anyways yes it will most likely fail unless they are selling crack out of it like Roma’s

No, the restaurant was started after Katrina by a guy named Tommy. He owned a wholesale seafood place in Chalmette.
I kinda know the guy who Tommy hired to create the original menu. He was fired shortly after the place opened and he was no longer needed. His name was Happy, and he also tried to open a bakery in the Roma Pizza place building.

I was referring to Porch Light, not Tommy’s.

First I've heard of this, but always wondered how he stayed open when the building is always void of customers and the pizza is so oily.
Tell us more.......

The parking at this location sucks, worse than the two time T.J. Ribs. I don't know how ROMA survived when the other restaurants were there, and I also don't know how ROMA survives now when there are rarely any vehicles in the parking lot. Prairieville was nicer when it was Cashio's store and a self service car wash.
