The food at Boil and Roux just isn't good and the service is shitty. I don't really care whether it's black owned or not. That wouldn't impact my decision to eat there or anywhere else

It’s pathetic. Complete waste of time and money

Oh for sure. Just weird wording. I can't think of the name but the bar uptown right by the boot was complete bs. They had a guy on the show that got fired and he didn't even work there. All bologna to make the show better

The problem is the owners does care and makes it a point to the extent of painting his parking lot. And mentioned it several times on the show. frick him. He made it about race so I will gladly accommodate him and bring my white arse elsewhere.

One side is covered up with astroturf and picnic tables. Not a permanent coverup by any means. The Coursey side looks like it has been pressure washed to try and remove it (or not), but now it just looks faded and nonetheless is still there.

The owner of that joint was a straight up a-hole though.

Dude was always cool af to me. Then again I never asked for him to alter or modify anything. I let him do his thing and it was always stellar. His main problem was that people wanted to add all sorts of toppings and for a pizza connoisseur like him he wanted to keep things simple, the way pizzas were intended to be.

Yeah. the places on this show are in a pretty deep hole by the time they get there. I think Irvin genuinely cares and does his best to help them, but he's only there for 3 days.

Also he seems to double/triple menu prices in areas where traffic has been an issue. I would suspect the "newness" wears off pretty fast.

I always called him the Pizza Nazi. He also treated his staff very poorly. If you dined in, it would be uncomfortable to listen to him yelling at his staff and the occasional customer. The dude made a great pizza, but he has serious temper issues.
