Is a Dairy Queen Blizzard a "Royal" Treat?

I always thought yes, but now they are advertising the ones with a core as a "Royal" Blizzard

My parents grew up poors and Blizzards was for special occasions when you could get a cone for 59 cents

I grew up in Waskom, Tx and DQ was the only restaurant in town

Blizzard was a damn delicacy.

I think Henderson, TX has the old Dairy Queen with the flat top and man those old places are great. The new ones blow.

I even worked at a diary queen a long time ago and still enjoy a dipped cone.

You missed out on the Waskom Cafe?

I've eaten there and at that DQ a few times, though not in many years,

I left there in 1990. Don't remember the Waskom Cafe.

It was in the late 90s that I frequented it. It was in an old building on Hwy 80. A real throwback diner style place. Good burgers. It has gone in and out of business over the years. Not sure of current status.
