ICE says screw Nola being a sanctuary city and raids Felipe’s Taqueria

Looks like ICE is doing some work.
"Felipe’s Taqueria has been the target of a federal immigration investigation that led to the sudden firings of several workers, who the restaurant chain said couldn’t provide proper legal documentation, in all three of its New Orleans locations earlier this month.
The restaurant chain confirmed the employees were let go in a statement provided by their public relations firm The Spears Group on Tuesday (March 12)."
“It was brought to our attention that some of our employees had inadequate documentation and during this time we provided those team members with the opportunity to provide the appropriate documentation in a timely manner. If they were unable to do so, it deeply saddened us to have to part ways with some of the very people that have contributed to the authentic Felipe’s experience,” the statement said."

That's the one Latoya Cantrell regularly got margs at.

...but is that the real reason behind Felipe's serving super average food?

They got it half right.
They got the documentation in the files, but, they never used E-Verify to make sure it was legit.
Will be interesting to see if the feds try to fine them here.
Someone had to turn them in, I'm guessing.
You could probably go into every restaurant in the country, and in at least half of them, find at least one illegal. If not known by the restaurant, at least with fake documentation.

Felipe's makes a solid burrito and awesome nachos.
Margs aren't bad either
