Wine Enthusiast does too then. 90 points for the Pinot Noir, 87 for the Pinot Grigio
Because they are getting paid for those reviews. If you've ever consistently read any of those wine rating publications you will notice a lot of very average wines getting strangely high reviews.

Wine companies will send some of the big name publications a few bottles of wine with along with a check and say "review these." If you're getting paid to review wine, and you give a bad review, they're less inclined to send you money to review them in the future. Hence, a lot of positive reviews. It's not a theory - that's just how it works. In fact, if you go to their website and type in "Barefoot" in the search function, the lowest score any of their reviewers give any of their wines is 80, with most of the scores being closer to the mid 80s.
I like plenty of lower-end stuff too, but just because Wine Enthusiast or Decanter gave it a "good" score - that doesn't really mean a whole lot.
