You also have to weigh losing that food as something you can eat.
I have a friend who got food poisoning at Bdub’s almost 20 years ago. Hasn’t been able to make himself eat a Buffalo wing anywhere since.

When in doubt, throw it out. Don't chance food poisoning.

Agreed
Since I live in a time where I currently have options, I'm gonna throw it out. I've had food poisoning twice and it's just not worth it to me.
We are in a famine or societal breakdown, I will eat what's available.

After proper cooking, I would have zero hesitation about serving that to family. I believe in the mantra "when i doubt, throw it out", but I would have no doubt that it was perfectly fine. I have had food poisoning, it's a bitch, but that is not going to give it to you. If it was seafood, then you have a problem.

If you were gonna eat it, I might’ve suggested putting the broth in a pot on the stove and brining it to a boil quickly at that point vs a crock pot which takes quite a while to get about 165. But throwing it out is probably the safe move

Heck I eat KFC that's been sitting on the counter for 2 days. No problem
