Hurst Restaurant on Airline Near Williams in Kenner

Stopped in there for the first time today. I thought someone told me about 7 years ago that they had an unbelievable lasagna they served. Well, I mis-remembered because they don't have it. But the place looked like a down home soul food place based on the menu, music, staff and clientele, so I stayed.

I got the smothered pork backbones with rice and gravy, green beans and cornbread. I've never had backbone stew before, but this was awesome! When I was done, I went to pay with my debit card. shite! They only take cash. I only had $8 - I was short 75 cents, even after retrieving change from my car. They were very gracious about it though, and said don't worry about the difference.

I will definitely be going back. Anybody else been there?
