I did 4 sacks today but for the first time I did 2 separate pots
Boiled them all in a lightly seasoned pot and then soaked in a cooler, seasoned pot. Worked out well. Got all 4 sacks done a lot quicker than the traditional one pot method

Salt, no, but go put your face on top of a boling pot of seasoned water and tell me it ain't carrying away seasoning
And take a sip of the water after everything is done boiling and tell me if it made any difference at all.
By your standards...it should be tap water when you're finished.

Wow y'all are dense today, so you are saying a spoon full or pre crawfish boil water and post crawfish boil water and there should be no difference at all, no seasoning lost to evaporation, nor to the crawfish soaking it up
Why put in seasoning in it at all? According to your analogy all the seasoning stays in the pot, so just save money and boil them in plain water

While the crawfish do soak up seasoning, and so do the potatoes, my point was if neither of them soak up enough to change the taste of the water all that much...a little secented steam won't hurt either.
There is a fairly forgiving margin of wrror when you are measuring your seasonings in pounds.
