Half salt and half seasoning as first sack?

That's what I do, and I think most do.

I usually just gauge the first sack and go from there. I end up using about 2-3lbs more powder and 10 oz of Zats liquid. I start with 4.5 lbs of powder. Really also depends on what else you have in there. Cayenne can be used as well.

I take a small cup of seasoned water out before putting in the first sack. Prior to putting in the 2nd sack, I compare the water in the pot to the water in the cup and add enough season to match. Usually about 1/2.

If you like the first batch add half as much as you did the first time

Always used 2/3 for each additional boil after the first

This. Especially if you have lots of potatoes and corn.

I go full seasoning. Mainly because I keep my initial batch a bit under seasoned for the weak of tongue. If you do a full blast on your first back, then I agree with the 2/3 amount
