I may have said this before but one of my uncles is a wholesaler. Yesterday he had a fisherman come in and my uncle was weighing the sacks and I guess through his 40 years of experience knew something was off with one of them.

He dumped them in a tub to show the fisherman. Every single one was dead. And they were caught that day. He said it’s only happened a handful of times and that the trap was probably skipped inadvertently on a couple runs. They are hearty creatures but can die in the traps.

Never heard of anything like that.

I have a 12 gallon bucket with a screw top lid. Put a water inlet in the bottom with a 90 on it shooting water into the bucket. I dump my crawfish in screw the lid on and crack back the hose pipe full blast, washes them in about 3 or 4 minintes. Take the lid off, pick the dead ones off the top and they ready to go.
