Circling back on my comment: my local WalMart carries a decent array of things I actually eat: Belgiosio mozzarella, Columbus Italian style salumi (though its in a variety pack, not whole lengths of dry cured salame), a decent if not crazy good domestic parmesan in chunks, whole milk Fage yogurt, jasmine rice, rice noodles, fish sauce, some Thai curry pastes, fresh ginger, tomatillos, several different fresh peppers like poblanos, portobello mushrooms, cremini mushrooms, plus a decent selection of Goya brand frozen Latin foods (like plantains/maduros, for example). You can throw rocks at WalMart for all sorts of things (food waste, labor practices), but the variety of stuff in the stores is pretty good, even in the deep rural south. I can get hoisin sauce, mole sauce in a jar, and at least eight different kinds of roux in a jar. The Taylor Farms brand of stir fry veggie kits is decent. If you like their rotisserie chickens, you can put together some pretty tasty meals using nothing more than produce and a deli chicken.
No, its not my favorite place to shop. But I can spend there and my sales taxes stay in my rural community, as opposed to driving to the nearest big city Trader Joe’s.

That taco bell party kit is legit.

I've tried blue apron, home fresh, and home chef
Blue apron - meals were different more unique to me, TONS of dishes afterwards which I didn't like.
Changed to Home chef - once got leaky package of chicken during trial so it turned me off. I've heard they've improved since then.
Home Fresh - more simple meals, less dishes, flavors just as good as blue apron to me. (had some delivery fails or missing ingredients once sent me fish when it was a beef recipe)
