Ye Olde College Inn has a brand new chef that's changing up the menu, classing it up a bit.
I would give them another try if you have not been in a while. The food is good and you can walk over to Rock N Bowl after for some drinks and music.

quote:good to know. I'll admit, I haven't been since pre-K, but the last few times I had gone, it was absolutely awful.

I've been a few times since Katrina. I like the new entree dishes/specials. And the Oyster Bacon and Havarti poboy was pretty good. (Cochon oyster BLT was much better though)

Bear's on Metairie rd isn't getting any love in this thread. Best roastbeef po'boy around IMO, although not quite as good as Bears in Covington.

Bear's is great for the northshore, where there are only a handful of above average po boy shops. Bear's isn't a top RB on the southshore IMO

I see what you mean, I think peoples' opinion of a RB po'boy depends mostly on what you grew up eating. I prefer the thin sliced RB at bears opposed to the pot roast style found at parkway, rodasta's and the like. But I like those too, but bears you can actually pick up and eat without it turning into a sloppy mess.
