I'm getting pumped up for the gumbo contest. On the note of the thanksgiving/turkey gumbo, I was wondering if any of the people planning on going are thinking outside the box (turkey n andouille, duck/rabbit/sausage, etc.). I'm getting hungry thinking about it.

I have to admit...I thought about turtle, alligator, and frog leg gumbo...but I came to the conclusion that was too far out of the box.

I think I am going to stick with my "Aquarium of America" Seafood Gumbo. Already bought the sea monkeys to add to the mix. Not to mention sea horses.

Ok...just shrimp, crab, and oysters...but that should win.

I'm getting there at 8 to start setting up shop, heating my chick/sausage gumbo, and starting another chicken sausage gumbo for the day.

I've decided to scratch cooking one each, and make 2 chicken and sausage and enter whichever turns out best.

Anyone is welcome to come hang out, I'll be bringing 2 fryers and a flat grill, so feel free to bring whatever to cook. I'm bringing some snacks for everyone to munch on (brisket, crawfish pies, fries, sausage poboys, etc)

Damn, i'm stuck in shreveport. This sounds like it could be a annual blast. Hope one of ya'll can post thru the morning. If i was there i would make ya'll the best bloody mary's to get it kicked off properly.
