Anyone ever been? I am highly skeptical of the gumbo as I am all gumbos my Momma didn't make. But what about the other food and the "best bottle beer selection" in Galveston?
ETA, the gumbo was actually good.
The best RESTAURANT gumbo I have had.
My Momma can still do better, I can on a good day, and a neighbor of mine can whip its arse but it was damned good. As was the beer selection.

you should be skeptical.
Gumbo is way too salty. po boy bread is brick like, though the shrimp in it isn't bad. chargrilled oysters were surprisingly good.
I've tried it probably 4 times because it's so close to my house, and never leave satisfied. and my gumbo standards are probably like yours...as in best made at home.

It's so-so if you're craving some gumbo.
The food scene is Galveston in pretty bad in general, besides a few bakeries and Bronco Burrito.

Went a second time and was again pleased. They know what a BIG bowl of gumbo is.
Again it is ONLY the best RESTAURANT bowl of gumbo I have had. They really are trying and all of their sides looked good.
Go in not expecting to swear off your mothers gumbo and you won't be disappointed.
