Grandkids want to go crabbing

Grandkids are in this weekend from Texas and want to go crabbing. Does anyone know if this is a good time of the year for that and perhaps where a good location is around the Mandeville/Covington/Lacombe area? Thanks

Bad time for grabbing. If really wanting to just be outdoors, go to BAYOU Lacombe with necks on a string. Maybe bring some light tackle and catch a couple of perch. Having fun with the grandkids is what it's all about anyway.
