Monjunis is gross. I want to like it because I like the atmosphere, but it is complete FAIL.

Don't know about other publications, but 225's Best Of doesn't depend on advertising budgets.

I've heard otherwise from restaurant owners.

And the Latin community of BR knows Julio Melara is a prick.

So you don't like Monjuni's or DiGiulio and you can't stand Abita.

When are you moving back to Dallas?

I giggle every time I see you write something like this.

Let me give you a rundown on how this list was probably made:

My wife was emailed a ballot. She filled it out. That is how the list was made.

Not a complete joke, but certainly very unscientific, and face value with each year's best of list.

Always biased of those they pimp.

Middendorfs a BR place..laughable.

Ruth Chris over Fleming and Sullivans..questionable.

Jubans..BR's best fine dining?..hit and miss from day to day..puny portions..etc..

Bonefish has been here almost three years..not new..

I haven't ate a Mary Lee donut in decades..

etc..

Superior Grill gets an unnecessary amount of love from 225 Magazine.

People obviously dig the margaritas and the atmosphere, good people watching. But to see that place ranked #1 for the food is a perversion of culinary justice.

Totally agree Fro. Superior's margaritas, blue corn chicken verde enchilada, chicken torilla soup, salsa,etc..rock..

But, their fish tacos are pitifully awful..

Decent Tex-Mex, but not authentic, and has some dishes that are downright Chi-Chi-esque.

After sleeping on it, I'm still pissed off at 225. What a waste of space and it really does no justice to the BR dining scene. Best biscuits Popeyes! Best healthy lunch Subway! Best Burrito Izo's! Just absurd. Some guy even wrote a comment that he couldn't believe all the chain restaurants were winners.

I can't wait to do my best of. The only thing they got right was albasha's IMHO. That link just made me disgusted. frick even the runner ups were chains! Best ribs TJ ribs and then Corkys! Aughhhh11!!!!1!1!1!1!!

It really isn't their fault. It is the people of BR who filled out the survey.

I remember something else...the survey they sent was multiple choice. They gave you a choice from 4 or 5 restaurants. For example, the best Mexican place would have a choice of Ninfa's, Superior, etc. I'm not sure how the nominations were handled. No write-ins were allowed.
