I would have sent it back and gotten the filet. They probably would have done it free of charge. The last thing they want is for you to not be satisfied with your meal when you are spending that kind of dough.
I once ordered a Ribeye MR from Ruth Chris' and it came to me a little more towards the medium side. At a place like Outback I would just shrug this off and eat the steak since it would still be good, but just not perfect. At Ruth Chris', my waiter could tell I was a little disappointed and insisted on getting me a new steak that was perfectly done. They brought the next steak out in like 3 minutes and it was AWESOME! They got a customer for life that night.

There's no such thing as a prime filet and any grocery store or restaurant that tells you different is lying.
WRONG!!!! WRONG!!!!
If a steak is graded USDA Prime it came from an animal that was graded Prime before being butchered. Which means that all beef from this animal is Prime. Including the Tenderloin where the Filet is cut from.

That is technically correct, but there is NO difference between a prime or choice filet. Prime meat's advantage comes from the marbling, which is something a tenderloin has very little of regardless of grade. I will never pay more for a prime filet, but will for a ribeye where the differences are worth the extra cost.

I was at my companies dinner so it wasnt on my tab, and Im not one to usually send something back unless its cold, undercooked, or not edible. Like I said it was a ok steak to me just not impressed, enjoy a filet a lot more.

This is a blanket statement that says they don't exist.
I agree with you that there is no difference b/t a choice filet and a prime filet but this guy is a idiot.
