Swiss is so boring and just ok in terms of taste. Getting by just because they've been around forever.

That's fine. If you're into super traditional cakes, then that's your place. You can always predict a Swiss cake at a wedding when you see one.

wedding's and wedding cakes tend to be traditional. maybe that is why. its funny cause that is what females usually want.

ive seen 100's of wedding receptions and wedding cakes. i don't have to know what women want, the cake they choose tells it all.

as far as Swiss goes, they have been around for decades for a reason. but like just about everything, different people have different taste.

hmmmmm, I wonder what my wedding cake says about me.

Antoine's has been around for decades too. I don't see people on here recommending them too often.

You make it sound like its a bad thing. When I see a wedding cake, I want it to taste like...a wedding cake. I'm not looking for a surprise. To each his own, being traditional and predictable isn't a bad thing if its traditionally and predictably delicious.

Anything other than a traditional cake seems tacky to me, but what do I know.

I don't mean for it to come off as a bad thing. If that's what you want, then by all means, get what you want! I'm pointing out to the op that if he wants to get something a little different for his special occasion then, in my opinion, Swiss isn't the right place. On top of that, the last couple Swiss cakes I've had weren't all that delicious.
