The stuffed wings are solid every year. I liked the roast beef from Boucherie and the tamale in a bowl, can't remember who made those.

I went with a couple of people and we split up, picked up and couple of items and retreated to the shade for our samplings.
Jackson Square: had a roast beef debris poboy from Dickie Brennans that was really good. Vaucresson's sausages are always winners with me and I had the Barbecued chicken sausage.
Mrs. Wheats crawfish pie and Cajun meat pie were small and soggy. Can't compare to Lasyone's.
Ristorante Carmelo's Crabmeat Ravioli and Calzone were both very good.
Woldenborg Park:
Crawfish Cakes topped with Crawfish Cream Sauce from Royal House. The cakes and sauce alone were fine and they served it on top of overcooked long grain white rice which I didn't understand. But I didn't touch the rice.
As for festivals, crowds, loud music, drunks.. IMO, this is a festival and a chance to get out and try some different foods and just relax and go to a party. If you didn't have fun, you should've had a drink and relaxed. There were plenty people in their 70's and 80's smiling and clapping their hands to the music. The weather was nice and there was an incredible breeze coming off the river at Woldenborg. Was a good time.
