Long story short, we were supposed to do family dinner today, but mine came down with flu. We were going to cook 7-8lb standing rib roast. Both me and my wife still wanted a "rib roast", so I bought two 1 1/2" prime ribs and going to cook in oven like a SRR.
Recipe calls for salt/pepper/garlic powder/olive oil rub, fat side up, 375 for 1.5 hours, shut off oven and let sit for 2 hrs. It came out amazing last year.
I am doing 375 for 45 mins, and let stand.
I will let you know how it comes out.

It came out great, a little over done. Pretty fricking good with horsey sauce, au Jus, garlic mash potatoes, blue cheese salad wedge, and Frog's Leap merlot.

That wedge looks legit.
