Firebox smoker recommendation
Posted by MEANGREEN65 on 8/5/18 at 7:55 am00
I have tried the electric smokers and had issues with heating elements and mother boards going out. I have an old school side firebox smoker but it doesn’t have enough space for what I’d like to smoke these days. Recommend me a verticle firebox smoker that should be able to handle 12 racks of ribs.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Backwoods G2 Chubby. Can cook 10-12 slabs in mine and it is a rib ccoking machine.

It makes a good quality smoke and maintains a moist cooking chamber.

If you have welding skills build your own. You can get exactly what you want.

This is the best value I've seen. There are better smokers out there, but I don't think you'll find a better one for $500.
Oops. Sorry, just saw you're looking for a verticle.

Hey! A few weeks ago I was driving down the road and spotted soene putting one of these out to the street and it was practically new and I grabbed it. Had no idea it was a 500 dollar trash pick.
I know nothing about how to use this as a smoker so I'm looking for info.
Also the city cut down a huge water oak across the street from me and I retained an assload of wood. Is that any good for smoking? What about a dead lemon tree?
Thanks
