Fire went out cooking pork

Friend of mine decided to cook a pork shoulder overnight and the fire went out at some point. He said it was still warm inside the grill but he could touch it bare handed. He moved it to the oven when he discovered it this morning.
The outside was charred. He put it on at 10PM and moved it at 7AM. He thinks it's going to be okay but I'm not so sure. What do y'all think?

Should be fine. Just relight the grill and put it back on. You could also finish it in the oven as it won't take very much smoke on at this point anyway, but I would prefer finishing it on the grill.
Pork shoulders are pretty forgiving.

I've had that happen to me before on an overnight cook. Just wrap it in foil (add a tiny bit of liquid if it seems dry) and put back on the smoker or in the oven at 225-250. Once up to temp, I always wrap mine in a beach towel and rest in a warm ice chest for a few hours.
