Anyone been? I went with someone for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. Very good seafood gumbo and the most tender alligator and frog legs I've ever eaten. Seemed a bit steep though. Their "regular" (large, we shared) gumbo was $16.95, frog and gator were $12.95 each, and after three Abita ambers tax and tip, the tab was into the $60's.

I go there a lot for lunch. They have great plate lunches for $9 as well as good hamburgers. They are owned by the Hebert family who owns the meat market next door. I've been a 20 year plus customer and may go there one day this week.

I used to go pretty regularly with one of my friends. The fried okra is tasty. I agree that the gumbo is very good. The boiled shrimp salad (pretty basic and not fancy, but generous with the shrimp) was my go to order. I think they stopped making it with boiled shrimp, but grilled shrimp salads are available.
I also agree about the prices. Higher than one would expect for the type of place it is.
